Julia L. Pierson, DPT
Pelvic Health Physiotherapist
I am a physical therapist specializing in women’s health and pelvic health. I have worked in this specialty since 2018 and I am continually inspired by the strength, resiliency, and potential of my clients that are addressing what are often very personal issues.
My goal is to empower each client to do the things they need to do, and the things they love to do, confidently. I believe everyone wants to thrive, and usually it’s not a lack of will that stands in the way, but rather a lack of the right tools, skills, or hope that their efforts will truly lead to healing and lasting improvement. My approach is to create a plan that is going to support my clients where they are and continue to serve them through their future stages of life.
My decision to pursue a career in physical therapy was inspired by the successful treatment I received for injuries I sustained as a collegiate endurance athlete. Three years into my professional practice, following a difficult pregnancy and a physically traumatic delivery, I sought pelvic floor physical therapy to help me recover. The results were remarkable. I went from barely coping and feeling vulnerable to regaining functionality, and eventually, I returned to running, skiing, weight lifting and endurance pursuits with confidence. I was so captivated that I began and have continued taking specialized training in women’s health and pelvic health.
