Julia L. Pierson, DPT
Pelvic Health Physiotherapist
My goal, as a physical therapist specializing in women's health with a focus on pelvic health, is to help each client be able to do those things they need to do, as well as those things they love to do, confidently. Everyone wants to thrive, and usually it’s not a matter of will, but often a matter of lacking the skill or hope that what they’re doing is going to lead to thriving. I know that "it feels good to feel good". I work to help each client find that understanding for themselves and to create a plan that is going to support them where they are and serve them well through all stages of life.
I pursued physical therapy as a career after being successfully treated for injuries that I sustained as a collegiate endurance athlete. After a difficult pregnancy and a physically traumatic delivery I sought out pelvic floor physical therapy to help me recover. The physical therapy that I received was miraculous. I went from barely coping and feeling vulnerable to being functional, and eventually to the point that I could once again push my body in fitness and adventure pursuits. I was so captivated that I began, and have continued, taking women’s health and pelvic health courses. I have worked in this specialty for 7 years and I’ve witnessed life changing improvements when clients follow through with their care.
